The Idaho Botanical Garden, built on 50 beautiful acres that once served as the state penitentiary’s farm and nursery, is so much more than a collection of gardens. Throughout the year, this gorgeous living museum hosts all sorts of fun and educational events. From a Summer Outlaw Field Concert Series to the Scarecrow Stroll and Winter Garden aGlow, there’s always something new to see and do at this Boise favorite.

Enjoy the 14 impeccably manicured specialty gardens, including a Children’s Adventure Garden and a meditation garden. Take a guided tour of the grounds or attend an educational workshop to learn more about plant life.

Events

The Idaho Botanical Garden is a living museum that features native and exotic plants. Besides offering educational programs, the garden also hosts a number of popular events. These include the Outlaw Field concert series, which showcases local and national musical artists in a beautiful natural environment.

General Admission concerts take place in a grassy, park-like setting. Bring low-back chairs or blankets to enjoy the show. If you’re a member, you can purchase Garden Suite seating during the member presale and anyone can buy remaining suite seats at the box office the day of the show.

Security checks are conducted at all entrances with handheld metal detectors. Please bring a small, hand-held clutch (4.5″ x 6.5″) or a clear bag. Backpacks and large purses are not allowed. Cameras with removable lenses and recording devices are prohibited.
